Graphics, Sounds, and Animations

There's something lurking in the depths of an ancient city: a dragon, hoarding piles of gold coins. Your mission: activate the special orbs, trigger the Avalanches, and try to land winning symbols, so that you can steal some of that treasure.

The Ryze 2 slot by ELK Studios boasts excellent HD graphics, including a little animated dragon, who might just breathe some fiery wins onto the grid. Look carefully, and you'll see golden goblets and shimmering gems amongst the piles of coins, while animated orange flames add some movement to the background.

The soundtrack is tense, with a fast drum beat and some eerie strings setting the mood, while vibrant chiming sounds mean you've just landed some winning symbols.

Gameplay

Ryze 2 doesn't have your average game grid. Instead, it's a seven-reel slot, in a formation of 6-5-6-5-6-5-6. To trigger a win, you need to get a Cluster of at least five of the same symbols anywhere on the grid. Once wins are paid out, winning symbols are removed in an Avalanche, and those remaining on the grid tumble down, allowing new symbols to replace them. The gem symbols pay the most, while you'll get smaller wins for the coin symbols.

Wilds, Bonuses, and Free Spins

This game has many different special features, it's actually a little confusing. But that's a good problem to have.

Winning Clusters create a Multiplier Wild in a vacant position, and the Multiplier increases by 1x for every coin or paying symbol in the winning Cluster it's part of.

Special Orbs are present at the side of the grid, and when a winning Cluster lands alongside an Orb, it will become activated. If all six Orbs are activated during the same game ground, the Orb Overload feature is triggered, where Orbs get special powers. For example, they might be able to shift symbols or spawn Wilds.

Look out for the special Bonus symbols: if they drop all the way down, they'll trigger the special round of seven Bonus Drops.

Bet Sizes, RTP, and Variance

The minimum stake amount on the Ryze 2 slot game is set at $/€/£0.20 per spin, while the maximum is quite high at $/€/£100. The max win is set at $/€/£1,000,000, which is an impressive 10,000x your stake.

Disappointingly, the game's RTP is 94%, which is significantly below the industry average of 96%. The volatility is rated 7/10, which puts it on the high side of medium, so both large and small wins are theoretically possible, but we usually still prefer higher-volatility games.

Conclusion

There are very few games that have as many features as this one. We're big fans of the Orb Powers, and we're always impressed to see Sticky Wild Multipliers! The theme is also fun, and the max win is impressive, especially if you're playing for the highest stake amount. Unfortunately, as the RTP of this game is low at just 94%, we wouldn't generally recommend it. It's a shame, because the special features are excellent.
